Now that's thinking outside the box! I have been kicking around the idea of doing that very thing, but my thinking was to cut the plastic housing from the rear and attach the circuit board inside the lens somehow. Yours is a much more elegant solution.
How'd you come up with the time/temperature in the oven? I would've thought that much heat would either melt the plastic or damage the LED circuitry.
