When Honda quit selling the Nighthawks in North America after '86, they lived on for several years as the CBX650 and CBX750 in the Pacific and some European markets. In fact, when Honda decided to reintroduce the Nighthawk to North America in '91, the engine came right off the CBX750 which was still in production in the Asian market (mostly as a police bike). I think they made the CBX650 until '89 or '90.
It's kinda like the current situation. Although Honda quit selling the Nighthawk in the U.S. back in '03, they're still selling a very similar version (the CB SevenFifty) in Europe and Asia.
