When I was younger, dumber, (guess yesterday qualifies) I'd show up to
High School on my NH and be very very cold - I had a rule - if it was
32 degrees or higher when I got up - I'd ride.
I drank a lot of hot chocolate.
As to idle speed - my 82 450 idles around 1300 RPM when its
warmed up - starting procedure consists of full choke until the idle
starts to drop, then no choke, it will idle around 900 rpm until warm.
