YES and it's a pititul PITA to get a new tool from Husky for instance, because you have to mail in the old o tneo them for them to send you a new one. I have had a similar experience at Harbor Frgt. I convinced him that the extra cost was worth it, as we lost time on the job for lack of good sockets, plus the gas to go get new ones plus the hassle of mailing the old to get it replaced.
NWAD... Does Lowe's replace the defective tool right there or do you have to send off like at Home Deopt? I've heard good things about the Husky tools at Home Depot, but I have had experience with the Kobalt tools at Lowes. I believe that both have a similar guarantee as Sears.
