Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I made my mark on the map, but not too many members near me in NC! I'll post some pics as soon as it cools off and I actually wash all the dust and grime off. Maybe a before and after.
Back to the bike: I practically stole this thing off Craigslist, so I am very happy so far. Let's just say a complete bike with title for under $500 ;) I figured for the price paid, I can always part it out and even make a little change if need be. Like I said, the tank has no dents or many flaws at all. However, as soon as I heard it fire up and run I am ready to do some restoration (at least to ride-able condition). At the last known running point in this bike's life, I know the shop that sold it had put new Bridgestone Spitfire S11 tires on it. Of course I would never trust them after all these years, but they aren't dry-rotted and have the little nubs still on there. I am hoping that they will at least enable me to pass inspection, because in NC you have to get inspection BEFORE you get a tag. I would like to think I can haul it up there on a trailer and pass inspection. The turn signal stalks are rotted/broken/lights hanging. Anybody know a source for those? If not I'll have to rig something up. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
