The stalks can be found on, of course, Ebay if you keep looking. There are some
replacement signals that can be had as well...other members probably know more
that I do where to get them but you might as well bookmark JC Whitney as they
have a lot of stuff. As for the old tires...I agree that you should plan on
replacements. JC Whitney again. All you can do is ride the bike a little and
see
how the tires respond. If the bike was stored indoors theres a better chance
that they will hold long enough to get new ones. Rubber just gets hard and
brittle over time and becomes dangerous. I had an older tire that I though was
good enough to ride on last year..it looked fine and all but it started to
separate 100 miles from home and it was all I could do to get back. It had
sidewall cracks by then that I could put spare change into. Let us know how it
goes. HotrodMamma.

(cb700sc)

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I made my mark on the map, but not
too many members near me in NC!
I'll post some pics as soon as it cools off and I actually wash all
the dust and grime off. Maybe a before and after.

Back to the bike:

I practically stole this thing off Craigslist, so I am very happy so
far. Let's just say a complete bike with title for under $500 ;)
I figured for the price paid, I can always part it out and even make a
little change if need be. Like I said, the tank has no dents or many
flaws at all.
However, as soon as I heard it fire up and run I am ready to do some
restoration (at least to ride-able condition).

At the last known running point in this bike's life, I know the shop
that sold it had put new Bridgestone Spitfire S11 tires on it.
Of course I would never trust them after all these years, but they
aren't dry-rotted and have the little nubs still on there.
I am hoping that they will at least enable me to pass inspection,
because in NC you have to get inspection BEFORE you get a tag.
I would like to think I can haul it up there on a trailer and pass
inspection.

The turn signal stalks are rotted/broken/lights hanging. Anybody know
a source for those? If not I'll have to rig something up.
