Mine doesn't have that option but the more expensive models might. On mine the mic is on the back and the mic is pretty muffled due to the waterproofing. You can leave the flap open on the back to pick up more sound but then you have to secure the flap pretty well or all you'll hear is the flap flapping around. With the flap closed all I usually hear on the raw video is wind noise, especially with it mounted to my helmet. The mic is kind of high-pitched and tinny on this camera as well.
