New guy on the boards, and already lovin it. Couple weeks back, I bought a '93 Nighthawk 750. Neat bike, 40k miles, good deal. Went with Tim (who's a member here) to go pick it up from Atlanta, and he did the riding home since this is my /first/ bike (with an engine, at least!).
I've ridden it every chance I get since, in between doing some maintenance and upkeep on it. There were a couple cosmetic/minor things wrong with it when I bought it, nothing an infusion of cash can't fix: new tail-light to fix the busted housing on the old one, new chain the PO shipped up to me (the chain was kinked, but the new stuff didn't arrive before we picked it up), new sprockets, fresh headlight lamp... The first time I rode it on after putting the fresh chain on it was / amazing/. I had a serious "OMG acceleration!" moment! It's down for the moment, however, as I wait for a rear tire. Since the bike's mostly going to be used as a commuter ($24 for a permit versus $134 for a car, whee!), I went for an ever so slightly bigger tire than stock ( 150/70 replacing the /huge/ tire that's on it now, 180/55) since they'd have to order it anyway. Really enjoying this bike so far, looking forward to watching, reading and learning. -Kurt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
