There is a post for a luggage rack, not the backrest. However, my 750 rack has the backrest cut off with the holes plugged with simple chromed things you can get at any hardware store. I then have a Givi box with a pad for the rider that works better than the stock backrest - it gives my rider 3 to 4 more inches of clearance which is more comfortable for both of us.
I was thinking about trying taking the plans from the older post and modifying them to include mounts for hard saddle bags. The old post had a geocities website (http://www.geocities.com/willitech.geo/motor/ hawkrack.htm) that no longer works. You can see what was done to a hondaline rick on this eBay post: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1992-Honda-Nighthawk-750-Ready-Ride-Cross-Country-/330474345755?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item4cf1ce551b I'll try to upload close-up pictures from my rack in the next day or two. Mine is in the shop right now. Sean On Sep 20, 10:06 am, [email protected] wrote: > Hello my fellow nighthawk lovers. Has anyone modified a backrest for another > bike to fit a 84-86 700s?
