I bought a backrest from craigslist sight unseen for cheap. He said it was off a 83 Nighthawk. When it arrived I was disappointed that it did not work on my 1984 700. In fact it did not work on a 1984 650. I think it goes on a 82-83 450 or 550 nighthawk. It is a beautiful piece and I hate to chop it up and TRY and modify it. Probably try this weekend. Will take pictures of backrest and final product. If it works, maybe it will help someone out.
