Pass the ratchet strap behind the airbox and use it to pull the airbox forward 
on to the carbs.

  Cleaning the carbs is easy, don't be afraid to take it on. The hardest part 
for me is getting the airbox back on and a ratchet strap helps greatly to push 
it back on.

  Of course the clymer manual would be a good purchase.  But, if you're
  new to repairs of this type (car/motorcycle) this may not be the
  easiest first project for you, and you may want to just take the bike
  into a shop.
