I'd say you'll be okay. Most the stuff is pretty much sheltered. On my 83 650, 
the only thing I'd worry about is the starter relay that sticks off the end of 
the air cleaner on that side. You may want to go through all the electricals 
over there - clean the contacts and put on some dielectric grease. This'll be a 
good idea besides the fact that you may be giving a little more water exposure.
