I recently purchased a seemingly well-tuned fully functional '86 Nighthawk S. It ran wonderfully for a week. Then one morning I fired it up and rode 40 miles toward work but stopped early at a gas station. After filling it up.... it wouldn't start. Mechanic says its probably the starter motor after he hooked up a working 12v to the terminals on the starter and it didn't turn over. Any ideas? This is my first bike and I really feel stranded. Thanks so much.
