Amen to that.  I just did a rebuild of the carb on my 250 because it was so bad
that nothing was going past the needle valve.  I had trouble removing the
float,
and had to spray carb cleaner on the needle seat valve from both sides to
finally get enough varnish off to pull it out with needle nose pliers.
Initially, I thought the carb looked to be so corroded internally that I
wouldn't be able to use it upon inspecting theair mixture valve.  I will be
installing it tomorrow and see how it runs.
In this case, straight SeaFoam in the tank didn't work and spraying cleaner in
the inlet tube and elsewhere didn't help either.
When I got the float bowl off, it was completely dry and sludge was present in
the bottom.
The bike did run by spraying carb cleaner down the throat of the carb...

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] white smoke

I just started my 83 cb750sc for the past week and I'm getting white smoke
coming from the muffler this will be the first time getting the bike to the
DMV for inspection. Will the white smoke cause the bike to fail and how
could I correct this.  Before someone says use Seafoam I already did unless
one can isn't enough.

Thanks
