*Javier's advice is sound. * * * *That said, if you can a) get the guy down significantly, and b) do some wrenching on your own you might be able to make it worth your while.* * * *I went back and looked at your pictures and I was left with some question marks. Such as: is the original headlight harness still there, and I couldn't see if the rear bags fit in from of the turn signal stems or whether the blinkers were integrated into the luggage. Do you recall if they were separate from the rear bags?* * * *Here's why I mention it: If I picked up that bike I would absolutely strip it down to its bare necessities. Including the driver floor boards and heel-toe shifter. Those are a MAJOR pain! Fortunately they are easy to get off and it's quite easy to find stock pegs to put back on.* * * *I would take off ALL the luggage, all the added accessories and even the roll bars (they looked pretty scuffed up from your photos) and just focus on the basic motorcycle and getting the engine running good.* * * *I would then buy a nice clear windshield and take it from there, beginning to replace the old and scuffed parts.* * * *By the way...a little (white) smoke when starting for a Goldwing is not at all uncommon, especially if the bike has been on its side stand. The opposed cylinder engine configuration makes that a fairly normal phenomenon. * * * *Paul* * * * *
