Y'know, rattle can paint jobs get short shrift all the time. But it's
relatively easy to get a pretty decent job of one if you use quality
materials and take your time with the prep work.

Colorite and Duplicolor are a couple of "systems" you can use to get
decent results for less than a hundred bucks that a pro would charge
close to a thousand for.

In the case of fuel tanks the key is to use a 2-part urethane clear
coat for maximum protection against fuel damage. But you're on your
own as far as brake fluid is concerned. Just don't get any on the
paint, is the best advice.

The rest is just common sense and care and the willingness to follow
directions.
