I agree with Javier, that it's probably a leaning condition in the mixture.
Along with your carburettor cleaning, I recommend you check all your
carburetor boots carefully for cracks or leaks, and your airbox seams as
well.

I know there aren't many vacuum lines on these bikes, but check the few
there are. If you find a lot of funk in the bowls when you clean the carbs,
consider cleaning out your tank, or at least pulling the petcock to clean
its filter.

Nothing serious, but probably lots of little things adding up to what feels
like a major problem.
