I invested in an excellent torque wrench when I got serious with
Volkswagens. It has survived three years of use, and once I had it I found
more and more uses for it. Spark plugs, lug nuts, axle bolts, exhaust
studs...

Mine is a made in USA Wright branded torque wrench.

It is a micrometer style clicker, cost me about $90 and has been worth every
penny of it. It cost me $25 shipped both ways to have it repaired and
recalibrated after it quit clicking after a fall.

Lie, there might be very different opinions about it, but if you are
thinking in getting a torque wrench just to tighten the axle bolts on your
NH, I would recommend getting the cheapest one. I got one at autozone (or
some similar place) for around $20. Considering the few times that I have
used, I think it is more than enough.
