Polishing aluminum is as much art as skill and involves lots of steps, and the patience of a saint. It starts with removing any clear coat, then sanding in steps with progressively finer papers, then polishing (again, in steps, with progressively finer "cutting" compounds and rouges) and finally buffing and waxing.
