Removing the rear tire/wheel from the bike is relatively easy, if you have some mechanical knowledge, some time, and a few wrenches of various sizes. I have a 700sc which is shaft driven, so I don't have a chain to mess with, but i believe the chain drives aren't that much more complicated. The hardest part, sometimes, is making sure you don't burn yourself on the hot exhaust! As for the front tire, its even easier than the rear, just make sure that you tuck in or hang your brake caliper on something other than the brake cable!
