hey guys! just wanted to let you know that I got the truck started...charged up the battery, put some seafoam, lucas fuel treatment, and new gas in the tank, and let it set in for a couple days. went out last night and started it...and it ran for about 10 minutes...so that part is temporarily fixed, when it's up and running better, I'll take it to have the fuel system cleaned professionally.
But now, i noticed another issue and was just wondering if it's because it has been sitting for so long. at first, when i start it, the oil pressure gauge is ehhh so-so, I guess, not really sure what it should be reading. But after it warms up a bit, the gauge drops, and starts flashing, and it kinda starts sputtering, and the rpms flutter up and down...until i think eventually it just dies. SO!, is this just because the oil has just been sitting and so thick it's not doing its job (understandable)... or ... is it a symptom of the oil pump going out? Any advice appreciated. Thanks guys. As for my Nighthawk, well, it won't start right now because the battery drained down, and it was low on fuel. So my question on that is this...I can get the engine to turn over by jump starting, no switch on , no key...is it a good idea to do this or should I jump start it with every on, key in start, start switch on, ect... or should I just wait to get a new battery. Thanks again, see y'all later NghthwkLvr On Aug 20, 1:14 pm, "NghthwkLvr (NL)" <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey Guys! > > Haven't posted here in a while but I am always lurking around in the > shadows, love this group and the interesting discussions. > > Let me apologize beforehand for this OT post...but... > > I have a 91 GMC Sonoma PU that I want to get running and cleaned up to > give my son for his 18th birthday and senior year.
