Thanks for the tips! I am in Mid Michigan, the bike is near Grand Rapids. Here is the listing, although it doesnt show much: http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/mcy/2830702009.html
The guy is sending me pictures later, via phone he said there was "no mechanical issues" and no dents dings etc. (nothing major at least) Supposing the tach is shot, is that difficult to repair/buy? (Looks like an OEM assembly is $400) I imagine the leak in the valve cover isnt terribly complicated, but requires the engine to be removed? I do not have a good place to work on the bike, but I can do minor mechanical tasks. Also, we just had a snowstorm, so unfortunately, I probably will not be able to drive the bike (very far) to test it out. Finally, this bike would replace my planned purchase of a brand new bike this spring - Would like to save some money and pay off a few bills before I dive into another monthly payment. I want to go on a ride around Lake Michigan, which is about 1000 miles - which is probably fine as long as the bike is in good shape. Thanks for the help!
