So when I opened up my carbs there was a soft rubber plug in the hole with the slow air jet on each carb. I read somewhere that this plug is necessary for the carb to work correctly, but both of my plugs are shot and need to be replaced. I can't find these plugs on parts diagrams, including my clymers manual (which also labels the pilot needle as a spring incidently), so I'm at a loss for how to replace them. Can you guys confirm if I need them and maybe help me find where to get new ones?
Thank you all again for all the help so far. I was hoping to test start for the first time last night but it turns out the electrical contacts have a thin layer of corrosion that is keeping the ignition from working at the moment. I'll have the ignition and most other electrical contacts cleaned up tonight though so hopefully I can take another try at it this evening. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
