Ok, so I know its an old thread, but I have some updates... I had bought a
new solenoid, but that wasn't the problem (now I have 2 :-) -- the original
will sit on a shelf).. here, the starter needed to be rebuilt. I had it
off the bike and it spun when attached to a battery, but apparently one of
the contacts were on its last legs at the time, and was stuck between the
inner bindings of the starter and where it sits. Bought the 'rebuild kit'
from the local honda dealer, (Bob Logue Honda -- beautiful collection, btw)
$40 later, about about a half hour, fired over, didn't even need to make
one full revolution before it started, just like always, even after sitting
all winter! Just thought I'd share my experience, I thought I saw awhile
back where someone else's bike wasn't starting..
