You would probably do better with the OEM tire size. People have different opinions on using slightly wider tires. Using a wider tire than stock usually makes for a rounder profile and increased circumference because the tire is pinched more. This can make the bike turn in faster, but gives a smaller contact patch. However if the tire isn't pinched enough then it will be flatter and turn in slower, but the contact patch will be larger. The real reason bigger/newer bikes have wide tires is because of their power. They need the larger contact patch. Your 450 won't have enough power to require a larger rear tire.
