So I'm on vacation in Tuscon, AZ. My brother in law has a Harley and suggested I rent one so we could ride. Unfortunately all the Harley's were rented. So I paid almost double and rented a BMW R1200RT. 2 days 180 miles my opinion.
Big, but not too big. Good fit and finish. Comfortable riding position up to maybe 300-400 mile ride. Flat twin is different, but effective. Tall 1st gear and feels like a diesel engine below. Pretty quite. ABS linked brakes - awesome. Way out stop the Harley. Handling was very confident inspiring. The ride to MT. Lemon gave me the chance to get a great feel for the bike at various speed, but mostly 3/4 all the way up. Although I've never coveted heated grips or seat, love the feature. Base was 73 and at the top 49. Half way up I turned on both and my butt and hands were toasty warm. The wind shield goes up and down and that is an awesome feature too. All in all nice bike. Enjoyed riding it and like some of these features. Having hard bags is very nice too. Not sure I'd pay 17k for a new one, but can see why people like them and the boxer twin. Thought one or two might like my review. Todd -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
