You can bleed them with the tube in a can of fluid method just like a car. However the master cylinder pumps just a little shot at a time so it takes forever. I seriously wouldn't replace a brake line without a vacuum pump. Dot 3/4 works fine. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

I went to two auto supply stores and they only had a fluid marked DOT 3 and DOT 4. Can I use that or do I have to go to Honda and get fluid for DOT 4 only? Also I am going to change out the fluid. The book says I can do it manually without a suction pump. Will I regret trying that manually. Most everyone recommends the pump. I have done it a number of times on cars, but motorcycles are different in that when you remove the lid, you lose the vacuum? Will the clutch lever push the fluid down without air?
