I replaced my brake light bulbs with drop in units fro superbrightleds.com http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2F744x-x45-T.htm#photos
They are just as bright as the regular bulbs but draw a lot less current and more importantly for me they don't fail due to vibration. My VFR killed bulbs about every 3 months.
