I solved a LOT of problems when I put a new battery in mine. Hot turn signal cutting out, hard starting, poor running cold, wildly hunting idle once warmed... It's amazing how much difference that battery makes! Does it start hard? Check connections at the relay too, dirty connections are high resistance so a marginal battery and weak idle/startup alternator output combine to not permit the bulbs to light.
