My wife wears a modular. It's good for in town, because the chin guard flips up, but you don't want to be going much over 35 because the wind grabs it. Plus its protection is somewhat compromised. I don't know if the wind above your windshield would grab the flipped shield of the helmet or not. I have a full face but here in La. it's the same with the heat, so I wear a 3/4 helmet myself, since I came home looking like I just dunked my whole head in a bucket of water from a three or four mile ride in traffic. The windshield prevents most of the wind from cooling, on my Shadow. I would ride my 450 Nighthawk (no windshield), but I have neglected to get a license for it; and mainly people show "respect"for it (the Shadow) because it looks like a cop bike coming down the road. They're not as likely to pull out in front of me from a side street. I've seen some front ends nose-dive when they see the bike coming. That tells me they intended probably not to stop... Until they saw the bike? Anyway I use the 3/4 helmet now that summer's here. And I believe you're right about the helmet being more like 2/3, now that I'm thinking of it. They call it 3/4 in the adds. Go figure...
