Parkway is awesome for views, especially NC side. Just watch your speed - they will nail you with a crazy fine. To me, more interesting than the parkway are most of the roads that lead to the parkway. Some of the best roads I've ever found are to/from the highway to the parkway.... could do those all day. Deal's Gap near Floyd, VA is a good one. I call it "Dragon North". Roads in WV are just crazy. Fun and twisty, crazy terrain, but less signs that warn you if a curve is coming up. If you like wine, Charlottesville VA is the place. (Or Loudon County further north.) Blowing Rock, NC is a great little town near the parkway. Asheville NC is somewhat close to the Dragon. Good food, lots of music, and not too many rednecks. Speaking of music... ever been to Nashville? A must see if you love music, regardless of what type of music you like. Its amazing. (TN sucks other than that, IMHO....)
