My vote is with stiffer suspension and the +passenger weight not being as big a fraction of total vehicle weight on the Buell versus the Nighthawk.
It's like with cars. Pack five 180# people (900 pounds total) in a Civic and you get a big difference in handling. Put 50 passengers of the same weight (9000 pounds total) in a 35' transit bus, and the handling is virtually unaffected.
