My GUESS would be that the white/black is - and the blue and yellow are the +.
One coil goes to #1 and 4 spark plugs and the other coil goes to #2 and 3.

Subject: Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] PDF 550 650 Nighthawk Service Manual 1983 - 1985

Yeah so sorry about the delay, thanks for helping. I ended up getting it
temporarily fixed with a friend. the picture I attached just shows the bolt
effected. I had to drill it out with a titanium drill bit because my bolt
extractor had broken off inside. what a pain! I have put in a new bolt.
Problem solved (I hope) I also had to cut out a new gasket for the valve
cover. Now that all seems to be fine. I have one more question. The spark
plug covers that lead to the 2 coils...which wires go on top and on bottom?
the wires that lead from the coils to the battery etc. I have a yellow and
white/black on one side (again I dont know which goes on the - and + sides
of the coil) and a blue and white/black on the other side (above spark
plugs 1 and 4). I am trying to find a picture that just shows me where the
green wires go and the yellow wires go. Any ideas from the pros? I can't
figure it out in my manual. Thanks for all your help!
