One of my favorite theories is that everybody has an individual, unique, personal Problem Level.
Too many problems, you solve some to get back to your comfort zone Problem Level. Too few problems, you create some to keep from being bored. Owning a old bike is like that. Bargain or money pit? Keep stock or modify? If only it had...(insert latest cool farkle). Which oil is best? Which tires? Would I rather have that bike over there? But notice how, when you get in a really good ride, all your problems seem to melt away. For awhile anyway (!)
