It may have been the first time the carbs had been removed. I had to take them
off because of the cracked isolator on the bottom. I think you could probably
do
the carbs without taking the whole pile off but??? I didn't try due to the
foregoing isolator problem.

I've taken carbs apart before and cleaned them - I do it just about every day
but never on the PC. So I was wondering how hard it is to get to the carbs and
remove them from the bike. I just cleaned the carbs on a 2006 Yamaha VStar 650
and it was incredibly easy. I didn't even have to remove them from the bike.
I
was hoping the PC would be the same .... Graham

Did some work on my '89 PC several years ago, found a cracked (and leaking)
isolator. That was when I had had the bike for just a short time. It was my
first and only, "big" job. Had some good advice from the group here but it
still
was a a b.... I couldn't believe how difficult is was to get enough pull on the
carb assys Wound up standing on the bike, with a strap over my shoulders and
heaving back and forth, while trying to stand up straighter.
