Hello all. I have a 2003 Nighthawk with about 15k miles. I took it into a shop to get a state inspection and per the technician, the "rear of motor (is) cracked at swing arm pivot bolt. (Crack is severe and will cause leak.)". All the technicians in the shop say they have never seen an engine crack like this. The repair options (engine or crankcase replacement) are limited and expensive so I have decided to sell the bike "as is" and with full disclosure. My question is how much should I ask for the bike in its present condition. Cosmetically it's a nice looking bike and runs well....it just has a crack in the crankcase that leaks a little oil when the engine is running!!! Any idea how much I might be able to get for it? Thanks in advance for all responses.
