This is how I do it on my 96 NH750. But I have to add that this doesn't quite exactly work on all bikes. The technique is the same, but there are bikes in which just putting your weight on the center stand won't make it. You will actually need to pull up the bike. I have found this to be the case in even smaller bikes, like the suzuki gs500.
