To add to this conversation, having lower profile tires on a bike can make getting it on the centerstand difficult.
I bought a st1100 that I could not get on its centerstand with all the practice in the world. And I've never had an issue with my NH750. So I gave up and never used the stand. This week I got new tires and in the process noticed the new tires, regulation size, were higher profile than the old ties the previous owner had on the bike. I thought that might have been the issue, so when I got home I tried to put the bike on the centerstand...and it popped right up there with no issues. So if anyone's having issues with the centerstand I would check the tire size.
