What these guys call lane splitting is nothing compared to what I saw in Brazil. I think the big problem here is the other drivers. If it's ever legalized in TX I'll wait years before I try it just to give drivers a chance to get used to it. Too many of them would intentionally run you off the road out of a sense of "fairness".
