At my advancing age, perhaps my memory isn’t as good as it once was, but if I
recall correctly, ALL of the “pissing contests” in the last 6 months started
with a post from Jeff Mercer. But as he is quick to explain, it was always
someone else's fault, due to their “elitist idiocy”, of which he has none.

I think there is – and should be – differences of opinion respectfully
expressed here.

Give us a break, Jeff. If someone due to their stupidity should happen to
disagree with you, just smile silently and let them remain stupid, as you
continue to remain superior to everyone.

id be glad to kurt, but im not going to sit here and listen to this elitist
idiocy.
there is not one bit of difference between the hd haters here and the Japanese
bike haters out there.
they are a reflection of each other.
I cant say it enough, elitists are fools no matter which side of the bike they
come down on, hd or Honda or bmw, etc.
Harleys have their points, Hondas have their points and bmws have their points,
even vespas have their points.
my old 62 vespa 125 used to get over 120 mpg and that was at a time when gas
was like 30 cents a gallon.
do you have any idea how much fun a 16 yr old can have when their
transportation costs are like a dollar a week?
to make a good running vehicle that gets 120 mpg in 1962 was an engineering
marvel.

Everyone here needs tip cool their jets. This topic started off on a positive
note about a neat custom job fans of the standard style of bikes could really
appreciate.
Can we all ditch the pissing contest please?

  you are so right.
its Honda envy. that's why there is an entire industry , making Japanese
bikes that look as close to Harleys as the law will allow. THATS WHY PEOPLE
TAKE PERFECTLY FINE RUNNING JAPANESE CRUISERS AND DETUNE THEM SO THEY SOUND
MORE LIKE HARLEYS, they run like crap but hey, at least they sound more like
hds, right?

that's why you see so many 20s 30s 40s 50s and even 60s Hondas all over the
place, cause people love them so much they preserve them for society. that's
why Hondas are worth many times more than the equal year harley
oh wait that's Harley Davidson isn't it, Hondas they just junk cause no one
but a few people bother to preserve them.

ps 'pastor' a cool guy once said 'For with the judgment that you judge, you
will be judged, and with the measure that you measure, it will be measured to
you'
  good luck with all that.
