All,
Originally I had it up for $3000 - figuring that was what I had in
it more or less.
Its currently up for $1500 and one person has looked at it. He
informed me that it was worth about $800. He also informed me that the
Fairing and Bags are not helping the value in his mind, as the first thing
he would do with it was to strip all of that off.
Its burning oil - quite a bit of oil - about a half quart every
300 miles at last check so that means she needs rings. Then of course you
might as well do the valves when you're in there, check the cylinders, etc
etc. While you've got the top end of the engine apart, you might want to do
the bottom end too, so one could easily start an entire engine rebuild.
I hate to say it, but I think I'm going to have to admit defeat
on this one and let her go cheap.
The same guy who said it was probably worth $800 said he would
give me $400 cash for it, but I am thinking he was low balling.
Anyone interested in a nice original project?
