I had the same problem with the grip glue, it sets up too fast and you only
get the grip halfway on. Instead I remembered my dad's trick to get grips
on my bike as a kid, hairspray. It lubricates to help slide the grip on and
after a bit sets up nice and sticky and holds forever.
