I have done several and never used glue. I found that all of them where were so tight that I didn't need it. I just made sure all surfaces were extremely clean (which makes sense to do with alcohol as Allen recommends). I like Kyle's suggestion of the hair spray, since in some cases can be very difficult to slide the rubber when everything is clean and dry. I think in at least one case, I actually used a little bit of hands cream to make it slide easier.
