It sound to me like you need some more play in the clutch cable. Try to get
it to engage at the half way point of the lever travel. If I had to bet it
engages as soon as you start to release the lever now. Also the friction
plates might be sticking, drain out some oil and add some seafoam(whatever
the bottle says), or ATF (about 1/2 quart), and ride it easy for a bit.
Then drain and replace the oil and filter. That will help clean out the
gunk. Or just get a clutch gasket a clutch socket and disassemble the
clutch and clean it with kerosene. While you might have a bent shift fork,
I'd try the easy cheap stuff first.
