That depends on your tenacity and his assessment of the issue. First put an
ammeter between the positive cable and the + post on the battery. Do this
with the key switch off. This will show static draw it should be basically
0 or a few miliamps. Not much has the capacity to draw power from the
battery when the key is off. Just the solenoid, key switch and regulator
rectifier. You could also start pulling fuses if you are getting a draw to
isolate the issue. Lastly you could just rewire the bike.
