I had a Tomos moped once that I bought new. I rode it to work at IBM in Charlotte, NC. I lived close to the Charlotte speedway, and it was death defying going over University Blvd bridge over I-85 without sidewalks OR any space AT ALL! Traffic was backed up for miles just for a skinny 2 lane bridge over I-85 (and some close calls with wantabe hillbilly race car drivers seeing how close they could come to my handlebars going over the bridge, AND there was traffic in front of them and no where to go anyway!!)
Otherwise, it was great and Tomos bought them from Puch (my favorite was 125cc radial fin Sears Allstate Puch street bike). The Tomos would always start up for years any time no matter how long it sat up, as long as I put good 2 stroke oil in it, no battery needed. You have to be good to ride a moped and always look in your rear view mirror CONSTANTLY. I was thinking about a Puch bigbore kit and chambers, but then that would be against the law. Oh well, I miss 2 strokes (I had a 74 Kaw 400 triple new - 1st vehicle owned :-) On Monday, June 30, 2014 10:30:09 PM UTC-7, sucotronic sucotronic wrote: > > Sean I almost take you, driving a '96 Toyota and a '97 Honda :P > > Talking about scooters, I've an Honda Vision 110 (probably not available > in the US). 2.2l/100km (107 mpg), price was 2000€ (2700$) and top speed > 80km/h (50mph).
