Personally I'd sell a 650 to get a 700 any day of the week, but I'm a tall
guy and the 700 just fits me better, plus i prefer the 700S styling. I'm
also not sentimental when it comes to bikes.

"Don't want to string anyone along, but that is how it WILL go, iF I sell
it."

I hope you don't take the following as anything other than constructive
criticism.
But in your post you seem to have a tone of "I'm in control, it's my way or
no way". If I were talking to someone about making a purchase and they had
an attitude like that I'd tell them no thanks I'll just get the next one.
While it is ok in my book to let some one know that you are ok with
something not selling, so they know to make their best offer if they really
want it. But it isn't ok to say well I'm not so sure I even want to sell
it, because if you feel that way then you are either going to regret
selling it, or waste someone else's time. My suggestion is to take the time
and think about what you want, and don't base selling one bike solely on
getting another. If you sell your 650 then you should be willing to wait
until the right 700S comes along. To me it seems that you have enough
sentimental value on the bike to warrant just keeping it and getting a 700S
as a second bike. I know money, space, spouse, etc often dictates
decisions, but that is what I would try and do.
