Starter rebuild kits will not fix the bad armature. You need a new starter. My CB700s wouldn't start when hot, all lights would dim while cranking (pulse with each compression stoke the starter pulled threw). When this happens you also get voltage drop to the coils and ignition control module, you'll get fuel though :)
