When I positioned the cable, I did attempt to "flat head" the strip into 
position. I'll pull it and give things another go your way as well. Another 
observation is that the two "washers" (not in front of fiche right now) 
that are on the inside next to the speedo's wheel gearing ... those sure 
are free standing, in simple terms. Are they supposed to puzzle-piece into 
any specific position or just rest on grease, then line them up.

If I'm not describing the part well enough ... the two very thin discs that 
can be removed from the inside of the wheel on the brake side. They seem to 
cover the gears for the speedo.
