Yes the washers richen the mid range, the pilot screws adjusts the idle to
1/4 throttle. Start with adjusting the pilot mixture so that the bike
doesn't pop at idle or load up (rich). Usually that is about 2 1/2 to 3
turns out. Then sync the carbs. After that play with washers and if you
feel that you get better roll on power at less than wide open then go up a
main jet and remove a washer.
